The Virgin Mary, robed in dark blue with a golden halo, is seated at the left holding the haloed infant Christ; an angel with a golden halo and outstretched wings stands centrally, gesturing toward the approaching Magi who are rendered in the right portion of the field bearing gifts. All figures are executed in the vivid polychrome style characteristic of Armenian manuscript painting.
