| Obverse description | The obverse of this square silver coin features four color-printed panels arranged in a grid, each depicting figures rendered in the style of Armenian medieval manuscript illumination. The upper-left panel shows a white dove in flight; the upper-right panel depicts a haloed reclining figure of the Christ child with a radiant star above; the lower-left panel portrays a standing haloed figure holding a cross amid stylized foliage; and the lower-right panel shows a second haloed standing figure also bearing a cross. The Armenian coat of arms — a crowned eagle with a shield — appears in the upper-right field outside the panels. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ runs along the top, the date 2010 appears vertically on the left, the denomination 1000 ԴՐԱՄ is inscribed along the bottom, and the English legend REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA runs vertically along the right side. |
