Obverse description The obverse of this square silver coin features four color-printed panels arranged in a grid, each depicting figures rendered in the style of Armenian medieval manuscript illumination. The upper-left panel shows a white dove in flight; the upper-right panel depicts a haloed reclining figure of the Christ child with a radiant star above; the lower-left panel portrays a standing haloed figure holding a cross amid stylized foliage; and the lower-right panel shows a second haloed standing figure also bearing a cross. The Armenian coat of arms — a crowned eagle with a shield — appears in the upper-right field outside the panels. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ runs along the top, the date 2010 appears vertically on the left, the denomination 1000 ԴՐԱՄ is inscribed along the bottom, and the English legend REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA runs vertically along the right side.

Reverse description The reverse displays a large full-color reproduction of an Armenian medieval illuminated scene depicting the Adoration of the Magi. The Virgin Mary, robed in dark blue with a golden halo, is seated at the left holding the haloed infant Christ; an angel with a golden halo and outstretched wings stands centrally, gesturing toward the approaching Magi who are rendered in the right portion of the field bearing gifts. All figures are executed in the vivid polychrome style characteristic of Armenian manuscript painting. The Armenian legend ՄՈԳԵՐԻ ԵՐԿՐՊԱԳՈՒԹՅՈՒՆԸ arcs across the upper portion of the design, with the English inscription ADORATION OF THE MAGI running vertically along the left border.
