| 备注 |
The Bank of Jamaica introduced this denomination in 2000 as the highest value in the series at the time, reflecting accumulated inflation that had eroded the purchasing power of older notes over the preceding two decades. Jamaica's dollar had lost significant ground against the US dollar through the 1990s, making a four-figure banknote a practical necessity rather than a prestige issue.
Thomas De La Rue printed this on cotton substrate with a hummingbird watermark — the streamertail, Jamaica's national bird, a recurring security motif across multiple Jamaican series. The P#84 designation covers a relatively short window before polymer and updated security specifications replaced this paper version.
