| Obverse description | Dominant orange and ochre tones throughout, with a large intaglio vignette of a rearing dragon amid clouds occupying the right portion of the note. The centre carries the bank's name in English and Chinese (香港渣打銀行), the promise-to-pay legend in script lettering, and the denomination 'One Thousand Dollars 壹仟圓' in bold type.
