Howard Printing Corp. produced this as a novelty item, not a financial instrument — it has no legal tender status and never did. These oversized pieces were sold as gag gifts and promotional curiosities in the early 1970s, a cottage industry that briefly flourished before the U.S. Secret Service began scrutinizing novelty currency producers more aggressively under the Counterfeit Detection Act amendments of that period.
Collectors file these under "cinderella" material. The dimensions alone disqualify it from any confusion with genuine Federal Reserve Notes.
