| Opmerkingen |
The $1000 denomination was introduced as a commemorative issue marking the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence, achieved in August 1962. De La Rue produced the series, as they have handled Jamaican currency printing for much of the post-independence period — the relationship predates independence itself, rooted in the colonial-era currency boards.
Pick 92 is a single-year issue, not a replacement for the circulating $1000 type but a parallel commemorative run. The security package is relatively modest for a high-denomination note of this period, with watermark and thread but no optically variable ink or color-shifting features.
