Guyana's highest-denomination note for much of this period, the G$1000 was printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Leipzig across an extended series run that stretched nearly a decade without significant redesign — an unusually long interval for a note at this value level, particularly given the inflationary pressures the Guyanese dollar sustained through the 2010s.
G&D's relationship with the Bank of Guyana goes back well before this issue, making Leipzig the de facto production home for the country's upper-denomination paper.
