| Obverse description | Draped bust of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan facing right, wearing traditional Gulf headdress (keffiyeh and agal), rendered in high relief against a polished proof field. A circular Arabic legend arcs around the upper portion of the coin, reading the ruler's full name and title, while the denomination '1000 Dirhams' in Arabic numerals appears in the lower field. The Latin transliteration 'SHAIKH ZAYED BIN SULTAN AL-NAHYAN' is inscribed along the lower periphery. |

The General Women's Union was established by presidential decree in 1975 under the direct patronage of Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, wife of UAE founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Its founding mission was to integrate Emirati women into the workforce and public life at a moment when the federation itself was barely four years old. This 1995 issue marks the organization's twentieth year — a commemorative impulse entirely consistent with UAE practice of using high-denomination gold strikes for state anniversaries rather than circulation.
At 40 grams of 22-karat gold, production numbers were deliberately limited. Fr#8 is among the scarcer UAE gold issues by surviving population.
