| Reverse description | The reverse of this trial piece is entirely plain and unfinished, exhibiting a flat, unadorned field heavily marked with numerous die-testing scratch lines consistent with its status as a reverse trial. At the very bottom of the field, a small rectangular cartouche bearing the mintmaster's mark 'MET.' appears above the engraver's imprint 'GORI & ZUCCHI', identifying the Unoaerre workshop responsible for the die preparation. No other design elements, legends, or decorative motifs are present, confirming this piece was struck solely to test the obverse die. |
