The Narodna Banka Bosne i Hercegovine was established in April 1992, weeks after Bosnia declared independence and while armed conflict was already under way. This note, printed at the ZIN facility in Belgrade, presents an immediate contradiction: a Bosnian state banknote produced at a Serbian federal printing works, in a city that was simultaneously supplying military forces fighting against that same state. The window for such an arrangement closed quickly.

By mid-1992 Bosnia had lost access to ZIN entirely, forcing subsequent issues to be produced abroad — primarily in Austria and Germany. P#2 is therefore one of the last artifacts of a brief and logistically impossible moment.
