The signature data on this note contains a cataloging error worth knowing before you buy. The earliest series (A0001–A6796) bears the signature of Zélia Maria Cardoso de Mello as Minister of Economy, with her title correctly printed in the feminine form "MINISTRA" — the first time that form had appeared on a Brazilian banknote. Pick 231 misidentifies this as a variety carrying the masculine "MINISTRO," and states the reverse. Neither error form exists in circulation. The catalog has the varieties exactly backwards.
Zélia held the post from March 1990 under Collor, and was replaced by Marcílio Marques Moreira in May 1991 — hence the title change mid-series at A6797.
