The issuing authority, denomination numerals, and the subject's title appear in letterpress inscription around each vignette. The composition is repeated in opposing orientation to fill the full vertical field of the note. |

The 1000 Cruzeiro note spans an unusually turbulent stretch of Brazilian monetary policy — four signature combinations in roughly five years, each change tracking a minister or central bank president rotating out as the government cycled through failed stabilization attempts. Langoni resigned in 1983 under pressure, reportedly in direct conflict with Finance Minister Dornelles over heterodox shock therapy; the signature transition on this note falls precisely at that rupture.
Stamp B differentiates this type from earlier overprint variants within the same design run, a cataloging distinction that matters more to completists than to the market generally. The B0001–B0788 range is the shortest prefix run, making those serials noticeably harder to locate.
