Opmerkingen

Nicaragua's 1000 Córdoba denomination sat at the very top of the Banco Nacional's mid-century note hierarchy — a value few ordinary Nicaraguans would have handled in daily transactions. The Somoza-era economy of the 1950s kept high-denomination notes largely within commercial and government banking channels, where they functioned as interbank instruments more than retail currency.

Thomas De La Rue's production for Nicaragua during this period is well-documented and consistent in quality. The series ran across several years with only minor variation, making date position and signature combinations the primary differentiators between sub-types within the P#106 designation.
