Reverse description Within the copper-nickel centre, a left-facing bare-headed bust of Simón Bolívar is depicted in high relief, based on the classic effigy modelled by Désiré-Albert Barre, whose surname 'BARRE' appears as a signature at the base of the bust. A mint mark monogram appears to the lower right of the effigy. The brass outer ring bears the legend '• BOLÍVAR • LIBERTADOR', separated by two raised dots at the three and nine o'clock positions.
