| 背面描述 | Conjoined busts of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía of Spain facing left, with the king's bust overlapping that of the queen in the foreground. The portraits are rendered in high relief with fine detail. A circular legend surrounds the busts reading 'S.S.M.M. LOS REYES DE ESPAÑA VISITAN GUINEA', with the date inscription '· DICIEMBRE 1979 ·' appearing in the lower exergual area. The border is formed by a raised beaded circle, and the entire design commemorates the royal visit to Equatorial Guinea in December 1979. |

Equatorial Guinea's 1980 coinage program was heavily tied to Spanish financial and diplomatic support following independence, and this trial strike reflects that relationship directly. The "Kings of Spain Royal Visit" issue commemorates the official state visit of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofía — one of Madrid's early gestures toward normalizing ties with its former colony under the Obiang regime, which had seized power from Francisco Macías Nguema just the year before.
Trial strikes in copper for this series were produced to test dies before committing to the intended precious metal production runs. Very few made it outside the mint.
