Issued under the Ministry of Finance rather than a central bank — Siam would not establish the Bank of Thailand until 1942 — this note belongs to a transitional moment when the government was attempting to modernize its monetary infrastructure while still operating through quasi-treasury mechanisms. At 1000 Baht, this was the highest denomination in everyday reach, and surviving examples from this window are uncommon — the combination of heavy use by commercial interests and later wartime disruptions to Siamese banking reduced attrition survival rates sharply.
