Reverse description A giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is depicted in naturalistic style seated at centre, cradling a young cub while feeding on bamboo shoots. A dense bamboo grove fills the background, rendered in fine detail. The legend THE GIANT PANDA arcs along the upper border of the reverse field. The date 2015, the denomination 3 OZ FINE SILVER, and the fineness .999 are inscribed in the lower field. The coin incorporates 311 Czech crystals set into the design, enhancing the decorative effect of this collector issue.

Additional information

Rwanda has no pandas, no historical connection to China, and no numismatic tradition that would make this issue anything other than what it is: a bullion-adjacent novelty struck for the collector market under a licensing arrangement that became briefly fashionable among European mint contractors around 2013–2016. The Czech crystals are a selling point from the manufacturer, not the issuing bank.
