| 裏面の説明 | A boldly modelled right-facing bust of Tadeusz Kościuszko, the Polish and American military hero, dominates the field, depicted in late 18th-century civilian dress with an open collar and cravat, his hair worn long in period fashion. The portrait is executed in high relief with smooth, neoclassical sculptural treatment against a mirror-polished field. The legend 'TADEUSZ • KOŚCIUSZKO •' curves along the upper right periphery. The subject's birth and death years '1746 • 1817' are inscribed along the lower periphery, completing the commemorative inscription. |

Kościuszko had been a fixture on Polish coinage since the interwar period, but the 1976 issue belongs to a distinct wave of silver commemoratives produced by the People's Republic specifically for the hard-currency export market. The Pewex and Baltona foreign exchange networks meant these coins were effectively priced in dollars and deutschmarks, not złotys — most never entered domestic circulation at all.
The .625 fineness is characteristic of Polish commemorative silver of this decade, chosen to reduce bullion costs while maintaining a coin marketable to Western collectors.
