Additional information

The Royal Castle in Warsaw was methodically demolished by the German military following the failed 1944 Warsaw Uprising — a deliberate act of cultural annihilation ordered by Hitler personally. When Poland finally committed to rebuilding it in the early 1970s, the project was funded in part through public donations and the sale of commemorative issues like this one. Work on the reconstruction began in 1971 and the castle reopened in 1984.

The probe references here are telling. Multiple Fischer and ParM pattern designations suggest this type went through several die or compositional trials before the final circulation or collector strikes were authorized.
