| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design depicts the standing effigies of Prince Mieszko I and Princess Dąbrówka rendered in a stylized medieval manner, facing the viewer frontally, richly attired in period garments and regalia. Mieszko I is shown holding a sword at his side while bearing a shield charged with the Polish eagle; Dąbrówka stands to his right in a complementary pose. The word PRÓBA (trial) appears incused within the field to the lower right of the central group, and the engraver's signature J. GOSŁAWSKI is inscribed at the lower left. The denomination ZŁ 100 ZŁ is prominently displayed in large numerals at the base of the design, with the names MIESZKO I DĄBRÓWKA lettered in a horizontal band immediately above. The encircling legend TYSIĄCLECIE PAŃSTWA POLSKIEGO (Millennium of the Polish State) runs along the full periphery in bold raised letters. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Poland's Millennium coinage commemorated the 900th anniversary of the Polish state — specifically the 966 AD baptism of Mieszko I, which the communist government reframed as a founding of the Polish nation rather than a religious event, deliberately sidelining the Catholic Church's own competing millennium celebrations. The NBP produced multiple trial strikes in varying compositions and finishes as the design was evaluated through 1960, resulting in a constellation of pattern variants that share references across Fischer, Parchimowicz, and KM without always mapping cleanly onto one another.
The "with background" designation distinguishes this piece from companion strikes with plain or differently treated fields — a small detail that carries real rarity implications.
