| Reverse description | The reverse presents stylized conjoined busts of Mieszko I and Dąbrówka facing right in bold, low relief, rendered in a distinctly modernist, almost Art Deco-influenced sculptural style. Mieszko I, depicted with a beard and wearing a diadem, is positioned slightly behind Dąbrówka, whose unadorned head and delicate profile appear in the foreground. The denomination 100 ZŁ is inscribed on a raised rectangular cartouche at the lower center of the field, flanked by the names MIESZKO and DĄBRÓWKA along a curved banner. The word PRÓBA (trial/pattern) appears to the right of the busts, and the engraver's initials W.K. (Wacław Kowalik) are visible below the busts near the lower rim. |

| Additional information |
Poland's Millennium coinage program commemorated the 1000th anniversary of the Polish state — traditionally dated to the baptism of Mieszko I in 966 AD. The 1960 trial strikes were produced well ahead of the official 1966 issue date, as the communist government and the Catholic Church fought bitterly over whose version of the Millennium would dominate public memory. The Church organized its own parallel celebrations; the state responded by accelerating its numismatic program as a secular counter-narrative.
This particular trial, catalogued as KM#Pr83, is one of several die and compositional variants documented in the Fischer and Par series, distinguished here by the small eagle and 100zł denomination placement.
