Beschrijving voorzijde Central to the obverse is the Polish state eagle displayed with wings spread wide, flanked on either side by historical heraldic shields. The eagle is rendered in high relief with detailed feathering and a boldly modelled body. The date '19 60' appears below the eagle, divided by its tail feathers. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' runs along the upper periphery in Latin script. The overall composition reflects a formal heraldic style consistent with People's Republic of Poland coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Poland's Millennium coinage program commemorated the 1000th anniversary of the Polish state — conventionally dated to the Christianization of the Piasts under Mieszko I in 966 AD. These trial strikes were produced as part of an unusually extensive proofing process in which the communist-era Mint of Poland explored multiple compositional and design variants before settling on the final issued type. The reference spread across KM#Pr76 through Pr80 and the corresponding Fischer and ParM designations reflects genuine distinct strikes, not catalog redundancy.

Pre-production silver trials from this series rarely entered any distribution channel and survive almost exclusively in institutional and specialist collections.
