| Obverse description | The central field features the crowned Polish eagle displayed, rendered in a stylized heraldic manner with wings spread and head turned to the right. Surrounding the eagle is a broad decorative border composed of fourteen historical regional and dynastic shields arranged in a ring, representing the provinces and territories of Poland throughout its millennium of statehood. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs between the inner field and the shield border, with the date 1966 and mint mark MW positioned at the base. The overall design, by engraver Józef Gosławski, reflects a monumental commemorative aesthetic befitting the millennial anniversary. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents two standing medieval figures in full regalia: Duke Mieszko I on the left, depicted in armor and holding a large heraldic shield bearing the Polish eagle, and his consort Dąbrówka on the right, draped in regal attire. The two figures face slightly inward in a ceremonial pose. The inscription MIESZKO+DĄBRÓWKA appears in the lower field between them, with the denomination ZŁ 100 ZŁ rendered in bold numerals below. The word PRÓBA (trial/proof) is incused vertically to the right of the figures, denoting the pattern status of this strike. The peripheral legend TYSIĄCLECIE PAŃSTWA POLSKIEGO (Millennium of the Polish State) arcs across the upper portion of the coin, and the engraver's signature J GOSŁAWSKI appears in the lower field. |
