| Obverse description | The Polish state eagle displayed with wings spread, rendered in a stylized Piast-era heraldic style, occupies the central field. The eagle stands atop a fortified tower or castle emblem, flanked on either side by two smaller historical crests set within the inner field. The circumferential legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the eagle, interrupted at the base by the date 19 66 flanking the lower central emblem. The mint mark MW appears on the eagle's breast, and the overall composition conveys the solemnity of the Polish millennium commemorative series. |
