| 背面描述 | A large, stylized bust of Nicolaus Copernicus fills the entire field, rendered in a bold modernist manner by engraver Anna Jarnuszkiewicz, with flowing hair extending to the coin's rim as abstract linear elements. The face is depicted in near-frontal view with strong, simplified features characteristic of mid-20th-century Polish medallic art. The inscription MIKOŁAJ KOPERNIK curves along the lower rim in incuse lettering. The word PRÓBA (trial/proof) appears in the upper right field, identifying this piece as a pattern strike. |

Poland's 100 Złotych Kopernik series generated an unusual volume of trial material in the early 1970s because the coin's release was timed to the 500th anniversary of Copernicus's birth in 1973 — a politically significant event the People's Republic invested heavily in commemorating. Aluminium trial strikes like this one were part of a broader evaluation process at Mennica Polska, testing planchet specifications and die performance before committing to the final copper-nickel circulation issue.
The multiplicity of Fischer and Parchimowicz reference numbers attached to this piece reflects genuine die and finish variations across the trial sequence, not cataloging redundancy.
