100 Zlotys Kazimierz Pułaski, Trial Strike

Pułaski died at the Siege of Savannah in October 1779, making him one of the few foreign-born generals to die in American service during the Revolutionary War. Poland's decision to commemorate him in 1976 was partly political timing — the U.S. bicentennial provided a diplomatic occasion to emphasize shared revolutionary history at a moment when the Polish government was managing its relationship with both Washington and Moscow.

Trial strikes in nickel were produced to test die quality and striking parameters before the circulating cupro-nickel composition was finalized. The ParM and Fischer references both catalog this as a proof-like essai rather than a circulation issue.
