| Beschrijving keerzijde | A large, naturalistically rendered carp (Cyprinus carpio) is depicted in profile facing right, swimming across the central field amid stylised horizontal wavy lines representing water, which fill both the upper and lower portions of the design. The fish is engraved with fine scale and fin detail, conveying a sense of movement and ecological realism. The word PRÓBA (trial) appears beneath the fish in the field. The circular legend OCHRONA ŚRODOWISKA (Environmental Protection) is arranged around the periphery in Latin script, with the text reading continuously around the coin. |

Poland's Environmental Protection series of the late 1970s was issued under the auspices of a communist government that had, paradoxically, presided over some of the most catastrophic industrial pollution in postwar Europe. The trial strike designation here is significant — Mennica Polska produced proof and essay pieces in multiple metal and alloy combinations during development, and survivors rarely left official channels.
The .625 silver fineness is characteristic of Polish trial coinage from this period, distinguishing it from the .750 standard used on some contemporaneous collector issues.
