| 正面描述 | The Polish national eagle — an uncrowned spread-winged eagle facing right with detailed feathering, displayed in high relief at the centre of the field — occupies the bulk of the obverse design. The date 1980 is split on either side of the eagle's body, reading '19' to the left and '80' to the right. The denomination '100' in large numerals is inscribed in the lower field, flanked by the currency abbreviation 'ZŁ' on both sides. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' arcs around the upper periphery. The mintmark of the Mint of Poland (MW) appears beneath the eagle. |

The Dar Pomorza ("Gift of Pomerania") was a Polish full-rigged training ship donated to the country's merchant marine academy in 1930, and by 1980 it was already a national institution with half a century of voyages behind it. This nickel trial strike was produced by Mennica Polska as part of the approval process before the standard silver circulation issue — probierze of this type were struck in small numbers for mint and ministry review, not for public release. The silver business strike reached collectors; this piece did not.
