Obverse description The Polish crowned eagle, displayed with wings spread, occupies the central field, rendered in high relief against a mirror-like proof surface. The eagle faces dexter and bears a shield on its breast, consistent with the emblem of the Polish People's Republic. The date 1978 is divided on either side of the eagle's body, with the mint mark MW visible below. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA runs along the upper periphery in Latin script, while the denomination 100 ZŁ appears prominently in large numerals along the lower rim, flanked by the ZŁ currency abbreviation.
