Reverse description The reverse presents two naturalistically modelled pigs facing one another in the central field, their robust forms rendered with fine sculptural detail against a polished ground. A graceful spray of leafy branches extends across the upper field, while tufts of grass are depicted in the lower field, evoking a traditional Chinese ink-painting aesthetic. To the left of the composition, the cyclical year inscription 乙亥 appears in Chinese characters, denoting the Year of the Pig in the sexagenary cycle. An artist's seal and signature appear to the right. The denomination 100 元 is inscribed in the lower left field.
