Reverse description A finely engraved ox stands in full profile facing left, depicted in a naturalistic style amid sparse grass, occupying the central field of the scalloped planchet. The animal is rendered with careful attention to musculature and texture, consistent with the high-relief craftsmanship of Chinese lunar series coinage. The cyclical year designation 丁丑, corresponding to the Year of the Ox in the Chinese sexagenary calendar, appears as a vertical inscription to the left of the figure. A small decorative seal-style cartouche is visible to the right of the ox. The denomination 100 元 is inscribed in the lower field in bold characters.
