Hell Bank Notes are ceremonial paper objects burned in Chinese folk religious practice to supply the deceased with currency in the afterlife — a tradition blending Buddhist and Taoist influences that long predates modern printed money. This piece is not legal tender and was never intended to circulate among the living. The issuer name, 天地銀行有限公司, is a standard fiction used across the industry; no such licensed bank exists.
Collectors occasionally acquire these for thematic or cultural study, but condition and scarcity have no meaningful bearing on value — they are produced in large quantities and sold in bulk for ritual use.
