| 表面の説明 | A central intaglio vignette portrays traditional Chinese canal boats moored beneath a stone arch bridge, with a multi-storey pavilion structure rising on the left bank, all executed in violet-purple on a fine guilloche underprint. The bank title 中國農民銀行 appears in Chinese characters across the top, flanked by two large dragon medallions encircling the denomination 壹佰圓 on each side. Red serial numbers are printed in letterpress at upper left and upper right, with issue and printer inscriptions along the lower margin. |

The Farmers Bank of China — nominally an agricultural credit institution but functionally a central government bank under the Nationalist administration — relied heavily on ABNC throughout the wartime period, when Japanese occupation had severed access to domestic printing facilities of comparable quality. By 1941, Chongqing was the seat of the Nationalist government, and notes like this one entered an economy under severe inflationary pressure that would only worsen through the mid-1940s.
ABNC's intaglio work on this series is among the finer wartime Chinese output, though the quality of paper and ink varied between shipments crossing a Pacific increasingly hostile to Allied commerce.
