Obverse description Portrait of Sun Yat-sen in an intaglio-printed oval medallion at right, set against a light blue guilloche underprint. A large central vignette contains the denomination characters 壹百圓 within an ornate cartouche surrounded by fine lathe-work guilloche patterns in red. Denomination numerals in decorative panels appear at each corner, with the issuer name 行銀央中 across the top and the Republic year inscription along the lower centre.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in dark green and black on a pale pink underprint, centred on a large ornate guilloche vignette bearing the numeral 100 in bold figures flanked by two vertical microtext columns. The issuer title THE CENTRAL BANK OF CHINA appears in a cartouche at the top, with the English denomination ONE HUNDRED YUAN and the date 1942 in a decorative panel at the foot. Two facsimile signatures — Assistant General Manager at left and General Manager at right — are printed across the lower portion of the design.
