The Bank of Nenchiang Sheeng (嫩江省銀行) was a provincial institution operating in Nenjiang Province, one of the short-lived administrative divisions established in Manchuria following the Soviet entry and Japanese collapse in August 1945. The province itself existed only from 1945 to 1949, absorbed into Heilongjiang when the Communists consolidated northeastern China. Notes from this bank reflect the chaotic transitional monetary environment of the immediate postwar northeast, where multiple provincial and military authorities issued competing paper currencies with little coordination.
The "var." designation against P#S3507R suggests a known but uncatalogued variant — worth documenting carefully against the type specimen before pricing.
