Reverse description Printed entirely in teal-green intaglio, the reverse is dominated by a central landscape vignette of the Yumedono (Hall of Dreams) at Hōryū-ji Temple in Nara, surrounded by forested grounds and pagoda structures. The issuer name 日本銀行兌換券 arches across the top within an elaborate cartouche of cloud and dragon scrollwork, with the denomination 百圓 at left and 100 at lower right, both set within ornate foliate panels. Geometric guilloche rosettes and wave-scroll borders complete the design.
