| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears the official Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games emblem — a geometric, checkerboard-patterned motif resembling a stylized laurel wreath or heart shape composed of rectangular segments — above the inscription TOKYO 2020 in Latin characters. Below the central emblem, the five interlocking Olympic rings are depicted in relief. The circumferential legend OLYMPIC GAMES TOKYO 2020 arcs around the upper periphery, while the lower periphery carries the Japanese era date 平成31年 (Year 31 of Heisei) to the left and the denomination 100YEN to the right, all separated by bullet points. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued as part of Japan's Tokyo 2020 Olympic commemorative program — delayed to 2021 by the pandemic but struck and released on the original schedule — this piece is one of a sprawling series of sport-specific 100 yen coins that flooded collector channels between 2019 and 2021. The Japanese Mint produced dozens of distinct types across the program, making this one of the more ambitious circulating commemorative campaigns in modern Japanese numismatics. Most were hoarded immediately upon release and saw little genuine circulation.
