| Opmerkingen |
The Bank of Chosun continued operating briefly after Japan's surrender in August 1945, issuing notes denominated simultaneously in both yen and won — a dual designation that reflects the unresolved monetary transition as Japanese colonial currency was being phased out. This particular issue falls squarely in that liminal period, before the eventual split between the US-administered south and Soviet-administered north hardened into permanent separate monetary systems.
The institution itself was liquidated by 1950, its functions absorbed by the Bank of Korea upon the Republic's establishment.
