| Aanvullende informatie |
Slovenia introduced the tolar in October 1991, just months after declaring independence from Yugoslavia — a currency launched under wartime conditions, with fighting still ongoing in the country's brief Ten-Day War. A decade later, this commemorative marked that survival. The tolar itself was always understood as transitional; Slovenian authorities were already orienting toward eurozone accession even as this coin was being struck, and the country would abandon the tolar for the euro in January 2007.
