| Aanvullende informatie |
Turar Rysqulov was a prominent Bolshevik official and advocate for Central Asian autonomy who was shot during the Great Purge in 1938 — one of thousands of Kazakh intellectuals and political figures liquidated in Stalin's campaigns. His rehabilitation came posthumously in 1956, and commemorating him on circulating coinage decades later reflects Kazakhstan's ongoing project of reclaiming pre-Soviet and Soviet-era figures who were erased by Moscow.
