100 Tenge T. Jurgenov 125 years

Tleukabyl Zhurgenov — the name is also transliterated Jurgenov — was a Soviet-era Kazakh statesman and cultural figure who served as People's Commissar of Education in the Kazakh ASSR during the 1930s before falling victim to Stalin's purges. He was arrested in 1937 and executed, then posthumously rehabilitated decades later. The 125th anniversary issue follows Kazakhstan's well-established pattern of commemorating rehabilitated figures of the Soviet period, a quiet but persistent act of national reclamation that has shaped the commemorative coin program since independence.
