Sündet toi is the Kazakh celebration surrounding male circumcision, traditionally marked by a significant family gathering and feast — one of the most important rites of passage in Kazakh culture, predating the region's Islamization but later reinforced by it. This coin is part of Kazakhstan's ongoing "Qazaqtyń Salт-Dästürleri" (Customs and Traditions of the Kazakhs) series, which the National Bank launched to document nomadic and folk practices that faced suppression during the Soviet period.
