100 Tenge Qajymuqan Munaitpasuly 150 years

Qajymuqan Munaitpasuly (1871–1948) was Kazakhstan's most celebrated traditional wrestler, a dominant figure in the Kazakh sport of kuresy who remained competitive into his sixties and reportedly never lost a formal bout throughout his career. He became a Soviet-era cultural emblem — the kind of folk hero whose image the USSR found useful for projecting national identity within the republics while keeping it carefully contained within an athletic, apolitical frame.

This circulation commemorative follows the National Bank's long-running 100 Tenge program honoring Kazakhstani historical figures, issued in copper-nickel rather than the silver used for premium collector pieces in the same series.
