100 Tenge Gold plaques in the form of deer

Kazakhstan has issued a substantial number of numismatic pieces drawing on Scythian-era goldwork traditions, particularly the "Animal Style" art associated with burial mounds excavated across the Eurasian steppe. The gold plaques depicted on this coin reference actual artifacts recovered from Saka and Scythian kurgan sites throughout Kazakhstan, some dating as far back as the 7th century BC.
