| Reverse description | A right-facing bust portrait of the celebrated Kazakh painter Alia Galimbayeva is depicted in the right portion of the field, shown wearing a beaded necklace. To her left, a decorative panel suggests a canvas or artwork in progress, consistent with her identity as an artist. The inscription 'А. ҒАЛЫМБАЕВА' arcs along the lower field, and the centenary dates '∙1917-2017∙' appear along the upper right rim. |

| Additional information |
Akhmet Galimbayev was a Soviet-era Kazakh painter trained in Leningrad, one of the first professionally educated fine artists from Kazakhstan, and a founding figure of what became the Union of Artists of the Kazakh SSR. His centennial fell in 2017, prompting this circulating commemorative — a category the National Bank of Kazakhstan has used aggressively since independence to assert a distinct cultural identity through coinage. Nickel silver was the standard alloy for the 100 Tenge commemorative program in this period.
