Additional information

Khamit Ergali (1916–1982) was a prominent Kazakh singer and performer of folk music, recognized as a People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR. Kazakhstan's commemorative coin program has produced dozens of these nickel silver centenary issues honoring Soviet-era cultural figures — issued under a consistent format that began in the early 2000s and continued well past independence.
