To the left, the denomination '$100' appears prominently, accompanied by the inscriptions denoting the weight and fineness of the piece. The national motto 'FA'AVAE I LE ATUA SAMOA' is inscribed, along with the assayer and founder marks 'ESSAYEUR' and 'FONDEUR'. The country name 'SAMOA' appears at the upper portion of the obverse.

Beschrijving keerzijde	A highly detailed relief depiction of the Imperial Japanese Navy battleship Yamato occupies the central field, shown underway at sea with wave elements rendered in fine detail beneath the hull. The superstructure, gun turrets, masts, and rigging are meticulously engraved in a polished proof finish against a mirror field. Below the ship, a dark exergual band carries the series title 'FAMOUS BATTLESHIPS' in raised capital letters, followed by the ship's name in both Latin script and Japanese characters '大和'. The date appears at the base of the reverse.
