| Opmerkingen |
Bangladesh Bank's relationship with Thomas De La Rue for its early post-independence series was a practical necessity — the country had no domestic security printing capability following the 1971 war and relied heavily on foreign contractors through its first decade of note production. This 1981 issue falls near the end of that heavily outsourced phase, before Bangladesh gradually developed its own Security Printing Press in Gazipur.
The watermark-only security specification is modest even by early 1980s standards, reflecting the cost constraints of a young central bank still building its monetary infrastructure.
