Commemorative issues from Bangladesh Bank are relatively uncommon, and this centenary note for the Bangladesh National Museum is one of the few to mark a cultural institution rather than a political anniversary. The museum itself was established under British India in 1913 in Dhaka, originally as the Dhaka Museum, predating Bangladesh's existence by nearly six decades.
With just over twelve million printed, the run was modest enough to generate collector demand immediately on release, though most examples that come to market today show no circulation whatsoever — these were pulled from envelopes, not tills.
