Reverse description The reverse is executed in deep purple intaglio on a pale ground, with the Ecuadorian national coat of arms as the central vignette — an oval shield bearing Chimborazo mountain and a steamship on a river, surmounted by a condor with spread wings and flanked by draped national flags and palm fronds. Large numeral "100" panels in intricate guilloche work occupy the far left and right fields, with the word "CIEN" appearing in smaller text on either side of the central arms. The bank name "BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR" is inscribed across the top in a ribbon cartouche, and "CIEN SUCRES" appears in bold lettering along the bottom border.
